What to wear: Limited Edition Tamara Tobias

It's been ages since I last posted anything on here and I have no excuses… EXCEPT that I have been rather preoccupied with the hazy, exhausting, but glorious bubble of first-time motherhood. As my baby boy has just turned one, I have promised myself that I will get back on the blogging bandwagon very soon!

In the meantime, I just had to pop in to do a little cheerleading for a super talented friend of mine - founder of Tamara Tobias - Tammy Fowler. Tammy launched her label at 8 months pregnant! Yes, I repeat, 8 months pregnant! When I was basically living on ice cream and ‘resting and nesting’, she was working non-stop to get her first collection designed and ready.

Tammy has just added this new limited edition scarf to her already amazing summer collection. Once it’s gone it’s gone, so I thought I would spread the word as far and wide as I could!
Limited edition Ganet's scarf

Tammy’s design was inspired by a primary school in Northern Malawi. The school was recently damaged by flash floods and Tammy has promised that 75% of the profits from the scarf will go into a fund to support the school. What’s not to love?

I have been amazed and endlessly impressed at how she has created a thriving business, while juggling the demands of being a really great mummy. Maybe we need to get her on here to tell us her secret!

To find out more about this school, what the fund is achieving and what you can do to help go to www.ganetsadventureschool.org

Here are some of my faves for the new season:

lots of love & have a happy day

In the bag: What to take to the Olympics

We've got it in the bag: Olympics fever

We've got it in the bag: Olympics fever by nkirkmartin featuring a union jack umbrella

We are super excited about the Olympics - London is at fever pitch! The Opening Ceremony was absolutely spectacular and the Games have gone off with a bang - 2 weeks of fun ahead (hopefully in the sun...).

There are strict rules about what you can and can't bring in to the venues - similar to going through airport security, there are restrictions on liquids, aerosols and gels. Having watched the tennis and volleyball, we thought we'd compile a short list of the things you don't want to be without:

Umbrella (a small one - golf umbrellas are banned)
Camera (to capture those Olympic moments)
Sunglasses (for when the sun decides to show its face!)
Purse (for coins and cards)
Scarf (to keep you warm and double up as a flag - go Team GB!)
Sun cream (200ml or less)
Empty water bottle (you can fill it up at the events)
Chewing gum (to keep you fresh)
Antibacterial wipes (for emergencies)

The less you take, the better, but whatever you do, don't forget your tickets!

What to wear: Go Bright or Go Home

When it comes to style - I have always been a throw on a great pair of jeans and heels kind of girl, and this seasons bright new coloured jeans are no exception. Both of us, in the It's a Pleasure, Treasure team, are smitten kittens when it comes to brightening up our wardrobes and with all the colours under the sun available - what's not to love.

You can keep it simple with a white t-shirt and statement necklace, dress them up with an equally bright top - basically you can throw them on with anything and they are sure to look fabulous. If you haven't tried a pair yet, I suggest you do it - coloured jeans give your outfit that edge that says - yes - today I am feeling bright and amazing and I am going to show it! Well that's how they make us feel anyway!

Here are some of our faves...

Colour me bright
  • Wearing the blue and coral
  • Lusting over the green and yellow
  • Wondering if we could pull off the patterned Oasis pair

What do you think about coloured jeans and what colour will you be wearing this summer?

What to wear: Wimbledon

Strawberries & Cream at Wimbledon

"Why has slamming a ball with a racquet become so obsessive a pleasure for so many of us? It seems clear to me that a primary attraction of the sport is the opportunity it gives to release aggression physically without being arrested for felonious assault." - Nat Hentoff

Wimbledon begins this week - hooray - and along with it, the threat of rain. It wouldn't be Wimbledon without the rain, right?

This year will be my first time at Wimbledon. My husband has managed to bag us tickets to watch the tennis during the Olympics - lucky me - I'll finally get to eat strawberries and cream in the sunshine! Or at least under my umbrella...

Along with the outfit above, I'll be taking my brolly - good old British summer!

What will you be wearing to Wimbledon this year?

What to wear: Shine, even when the sun won't!

A splash of sunshine

A splash of sunshine by nkirkmartin featuring butter london nail polish

"Don't knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while." - Kin Hubbard

I'm guessing Kin didn't live in London...

The British weather is starting to get me down. I have forgotten what Summer feels like. I can't remember when last I left home without a cardigan (and scarf). Granted, I am the ice queen (temperature, not heart), but surely by this time of year we should all be sporting short skirts, summery sandals and sunglass tans?!

So despite the fact that the weather is not playing nice, we have decided to think summery thoughts. Incidentally, the forecast looks quite lovely for the next day or two, so I hope I haven't cursed it by speaking out loud!

This outfit makes me want to pack a suitcase to somewhere exotic. Doesn't the yellow dress scream 'take me on holiday!'? (Husband, I think it's talking to me!)

Have you got any lovely, sunny trips planned?
